Shopaholic Confessions

For the past couple of years I’ve cut back on shopping because I was such an addict and not even ashamed. When I say addict, I mean living check to check because I would spend so much money on unnecessary stuff (clothing and accessories being the main things) and not even care that I was left with chump change in my account. I can’t remember exactly when, but I slowly started getting disgusted by my shopping habits and annoyed with how broke I was.

So my shopping hiatus began. I didn’t shop online at all and I even rejected all temptations while I still worked at H&M. During this time, my outlook on shopping, supply and demand, and clothing as a whole had changed. Before I would shop with an ‘at the moment’ mindset, but now I look at shopping as an investment.

A few weeks ago, I was going through my email and saw that Zara was having a 50-70% off sale. Even though I always read the emails they send me about new arrivals and sale promotions, this particular time I was curious to see what styles were being pushed out the way for next seasons goodies

I searched just about every category and ended up finding three cross body, shoulder bags that I couldn’t resist because the styles were exactly what I’d been wanting and the price made them so worth it.

You did the math right, three purses totaling at a price of $59.33 (including tax, but not shipping because it was free on orders $50+). The original price for these purses totaled to about $145, but I managed to save around $85 dollars. That’s my kind of shopping. When I got the purses I was more than pleased with the quality and started thinkin of various outfits for each bag.

Excited about my purchase and anxious for some style inspo, I hopped on instagram to go to the explore page, but my attention was immediately snatched by a post saying “25%off MLK sale.” The 25% pulled me in and I immediately tapped on the post to read more. It just so happened to be my childhood friend, Spencer, promoting a sale for his clothing line.

I hadn’t bought anything from him in a while either due to my hiatus, so I figured this was the perfect time to get some of his latest designs. After scrolling through various deigns that were hard to resist, I finally decided on getting the "Everybody Hates You Till They Love You" hoodie and a "Most Hated" t-shirt.

Once again, another great deal that brought me satisfaction about making these purchases. I can’t wait to until I get a moment to style my new prices, so subscribe to stay updated on how I’ll be putting them together on my Star Styles page.
