Simplicity

A couple months ago I attended my cousin's wedding where my family and I got to stay in a vacation home on site of where the wedding was held. Being the first to arrive, I walked through the home experiencing so many moments of simplicity. I instantly grew intrigued with discovering more of the home and how perfect everything seemed to be. It was like when you first check-in to your hotel room and everything's in place, but on a much bigger scale.

Being able to appreciate the simple things in this home also grew my love for the interior designer who put everything together. Unlike in a hotel, there were certain trinkets and decorations put in place to bring out the character of that place.

Along with appreciating the simplicity of this wonderful home, I also kept my outfits for the wedding cute and simple. At the ceremony, I wore a velvet green dress, with dumbbell sleeves and a low v-cut and high, center split. This dress was super comfy and even though it's a heavy material it was perfect for the season because it was warm outside but still had a cool breeze (and even drizzled a little bit).

At the reception, I still enjoyed dinner in the same outfit and then changed when it was time for the real party to begin. Nonetheless, I still kept it simple and wore a three piece, blush pink set that was super comfy and stretchy. The best thing about these two outfits is that I kept my accessories the same and they complimented both looks; a gold, diamond, jade necklace, a rose gold Marc Jacobs watch (and other arm jewelry) and and a black and gold 'Star' purse from Zara. An effortless look for a lovely, effortless day.

Being able to notice and appreciate these simple things, led me to think how I can enjoy simplicity in my everyday life. The key is time. Being able to make time to tidy up my room, or read a book I've been starring at as I come and go. Even taking the time out to create this blog post in a quiet space. In the midst of a busy life, when you're always on the go, it's just like the saying goes, "Stop and smell the roses." Meaning take the time to enjoy the simple things in life instead of letting them go unnoticed and unappreciated.
